Company executives participate in Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Standards (VICS) Association and in the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA)
WASHINGTON, DC, July 28, 2005
Vision Chain, Inc. (www.visionchain.com), a leading global provider of demand and supply chain solutions, announced today that Company executives have become active members in the Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Standards (VICS) Association and in the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA), the world's largest association of food, beverage, and consumer products companies
The VICS membership includes highly influential executives in key retail, manufacturing, and transportation companies that collaborate to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the entire supply chain. Vision Chain's Director of Product Management actively participates on the "Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment" (CPFR) Committee that is dedicated to improving the existing guidelines, tools and critical first steps that enable the implementation of CPFR. He also provides the Vision Chain technology perspective to the "Retail Out-of-Stock" Committee that is tasked with identifying reasons behind product unavailability at the retail level and to developing solutions to address this chronic problem. Vision Chain enterprise software directly tackles this issue by enabling CP business users to access an integrated, harmonized demand signal repository through intuitive dashboards to gain complete visibility into their entire supply chain.
"As the market leader in enterprise software that makes cleansed demand data 'actionable' for consumer products companies, we can help shape how the industry can drive improvements in their sales, marketing and supply chain planning activities that produce actual return on investment," said Dave Shuman, Director of Product Management, Vision Chain. "The many CP companies that use our software today are able to make more informed and timely product and merchandising decisions that lead to enhanced shelf presence, reduced stock-outs and distribution voids, higher market visibility for their brands, and ultimately more sales."
"Vision Chain plays an important role as a member of our association and in the industry as a whole by solving some of the obstacles that companies face in their efforts to effectively use point-of-sale (POS) data," said Joe Andraski, president & CEO of VICS. "Our committees are an important vehicle for companies such as Vision Chain to share information about the successful experiences of their CP clients as they overcome the challenges to obtaining and using data to drive business decisions."
As an Associate Member of GMA, Vision Chain is afforded an opportunity to interact with the leaders of the world's largest food, beverage and consumer products industry on key issues that affect the ability of brand manufacturers to market their products profitably and deliver superior value to the consumer. In April 2005, Vision Chain CEO moderated a panel discussion on ways to harness the power of POS data during GMA's Information Systems and Logistics/Distribution Conference in Florida.
